In CAVE IN, the third release from gavin – singer-songwriter / acoustic guitarist Gavin Derek – the stakes get personal. Driven by his signature alternative folk/funk vibe, gavin journeys both rhythmically and emotionally through the heartaches of longing and leaving, the thrill of discovering new souls and the connection we all share as travelers through these feelings. CAVE IN focuses on the emotions resulting from leaving a long-term relationship in songs like “Another Man Down” (I gave a man my heart / and asked him to let it go / I’m a loser at this art / I know), and “Not Like This” (I never meant to mean so much / not like this). It explores the thrill of meeting someone new in “Friend” (you are a good man / I have found the very best of good man) and the pain of love gone unfulfilled in “Who Are You To Me” and “Crave” (I’m not in love / I starve). Roman Morykit (from the band Gypsy Soul) returns for the third time as producer, mixer and multi-instrumentalist. CAVE IN features Harry Morton on electric guitar, Jun Falkenstein on bass and Vintz Mann on drums/percussion. gavin’s first two releases – ANGELS, BOMBS & MARTIANS and BREATHING HOLE – were solo projects. All three are released under the OFF The Beaten Track Recordings label.
